 On Friday night Donald McIntosh opened the 2017 season at Talladega Short Track (Eastaboga, Alabama) for the rescheduled 26th Annual Ice Bowl. Drawing 50 Super Late Models for the two-day event, McIntosh followed up the 4th fastest time overall in qualifying with a heat race victory. Earning the 3rd-starting position for the $6,000-to-win A-Main on Saturday, Donald held on to a podium finish in the 50-lap main event. Jumping into the 2nd position near the beginning the A-Main, McIntosh closed in race-leader Michael Page on lap-12 due to lap traffic. Unable to make the pass for the lead early in the race, Donald McIntosh made a last lap dash for the top spot but came up short when the checkered flag flew registering a 2nd place finish behind Page with Jason Hiett, Brian Smith, and Jason Welshan rounding out the Top 5. Donald McIntosh returned to action on Saturday at Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) for the annual Cabin Fever 40. With 36 Super Late Models signed in for the Schaeffer Oil Iron-Man Mountain Championship sanctioned event, McIntosh secured his spot into the A-Main after laying down the 6th fastest qualifying time in his group. With $3,500 on the line, Donald ran into trouble in the early stages of the feature bringing out a caution on lap 7. Coming from the tail of the field, McIntosh battled back to a 15th place finish.
