Competing in his Super and Crate Late Model, Donald McIntosh traveled to 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) on Saturday night for the unsanctioned Leftover. Laying down the 2nd fastest qualifying time in his group behind Dale McDowell, Donald locked his spot into the $5,000-to-win feature and didn’t have to race in a heat. In a field of 34 Crate Late Models, McIntosh secured his spot into the feature with the 4th fastest time in qualifying. Reeling in another Top 5 finish in the feature, Donald registered a 3rd place finish behind Jason Welshan and Jason Manley with Greg Martin and Ross White trailing them across the finish line.

Wrapping up the Southern Nationals Bonus Series, Donald McIntosh headed to Boyd’s Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia) on Friday night for the two-day Gobbler. With 35 Super Late Models signed in, McIntosh followed up the 2nd fastest time overall in qualifying with a heat race victory. Earning the pole position for the $10,000-to-win feature on Saturday evening, Donald led the first four laps of the 60-lapper but dropped back to a 3rd place finish when the checkers flew trailing Brandon Overton and Chris Madden across the finish line with Dale McDowell and Jason Hiett completing the Top 5 finishers. With his performance over the weekend, McIntosh clinched the $5,000 Southern Nationals Series title and the $5,053 Southern Nationals Bonus Series championship.

The 23-year-old McIntosh is already a veteran of both pavement and dirt track racing. The past five years have found the Dawsonville, Georgia racer focusing on the dirt track ranks, where he has enjoyed considerable success.

In 2015 and 2016 McIntosh claimed the Old Man's Garage Spring Nationals title in his Blount Excavating #7 Stowers CAT/ Rocket Chassis/ Vic Hill Racing Engine Super Late Model. He currently leads the Southern Nationals Bonus Series standings with the final event scheduled for this weekend at Boyds Speedway (Ringgold, Georgia).
