Donald McIntosh made the trip to Volusia Speedway Park (Barberville, Florida) on Monday night for the 46th annual UMP DIRTcar Nationals. In a field of 43 Super Late Models, McIntosh logged a 5th place finish in his heat. Needing a 3rd place finish or better in his B-Main to make the opening night A-Main, Donald slipped back to a 12th place outing.
On Tuesday after recording seventh fastest time in his qualifying group, Donald came two spots short of at transfer position in his heat with a 5th place finish. Sending the Top 2 out of the B-Main, McIntosh locked his spot with a runner-up finish behind Billy Moyer Jr. With $7,000 on the line, Donald McIntosh jumped up two positions in the 30-lapper recording a 21st place finish. Donald returned to action on Sunday afternoon at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) for the unsanctioned Frostbuster. In a field of 14 Super Late Models, McIntosh earned the 2nd-starting position for the $3,500-to-win A-Main after laying down the second fastest time in qualifying. Battling in the Top 3 for entire distance of the 40-lapper, McIntosh came across the finish line in 2nd behind Jason Welshan with Mike Weeks, Michael Chilton, and John Ownbey completing the Top 5 finishers.
