Donald McIntosh returned with the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals on Tuesday evening at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, North Carolina) for the eighth round of the tour. In a field of 22 cars, McIntosh secured his spot into the opening night feature with the fifth fastest lap in his time trial group. Starting in 10th, Donald gained three spots recording a 7th place finish.

On Thursday night at Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tennessee), Donald registered the second fastest time in his group which positioned him 3rd on the starting grid for the A-Main. With $3,500 on the line, McIntosh brought out a caution while running in 3rd on lap 28 that dropped him back to a 10th place outing.

The following night at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tennessee) for the $10,000 top prize, McIntosh laid down the fourth fastest lap in his time trial group before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory. Starting the feature in 3rd, Donald held his spot for all 53-laps to place 3rd behind Dale McDowell and Brandon Overton with Kyle Strickler and Ross Bailes rounding out the Top-5. Wrapping up the Schaeffer’s Oil Southern Nationals on Saturday, Donald stopped at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) for the $10,053-to-win finale. Recording a 3rd place finish in his heat, McIntosh earned the 10th-starting position for the main event. Improving two spots in the 53-lap affair, Donald McIntosh notched an 8th place finish.

Donald finished third in the final Southern Nationals point standings.

After Mother Nature wiped out Thursday and Friday’s events at Toccoa Raceway (Toccoa, Georgia) and Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Georgia), Donald returned with the Southern Nationals on Saturday at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Georgia). With 25 cars on hand for the fourth round of the tour, McIntosh locked his spot into the $10,000-to-win A-Main with a 2nd place finish in his heat behind Tanner English. Rolling off 6th, Donald was an early retiree on the fifth lap with suspensions issue.  

On Sunday afternoon at Rome Speedway (Rome, Georgia), McIntosh registered the fastest time overall in qualifying securing his spot into the finale. With $5,300 on the line, Donald fell three spots to place 5th behind Austin Horton, Michael Page, Jason Croft, and Brandon Overton.

Saturday night found Donald McIntosh in action at Wythe Raceway (Rural Retreat, Virginia) kicking off the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals. With 30 cars registered in for action, McIntosh followed up the seventh fastest time in his qualifying group with a 3rd place finish in his heat. Starting in 9th, Donald improved five spots to place 4th behind Brandon Overton, Dale McDowell, and Kyle Hardy with Tanner English coming in 5th.

The following night at Cherokee Speedway (Gaffney, South Carolina), Donald locked his spot into the $10,000-to-win finale with a runner-up finish in his heat behind Brandon Overton. Rolling off 9th, McIntosh brought out a caution on lap 39 while running in 3rd with a flat-tire. He rejoined the field from the tail and worked his way up to a 9th place finish.

Donald McIntosh followed the Schaeffer’s Iron-Man Championship to Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tennessee) on Wednesday night for the Firecracker 40. After Mother Nature postponed Wednesday’s feature to Thursday with 13 laps completed, McIntosh recorded an 11th place outing in the remaining 27 circuits.
