July 25, 2020 - Top 5 finish in Southern Nationals action at Crossville, finishes fourth in points battle
1On Tuesday evening Donald McIntosh returned with the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals at Tri-County Racetrack (Brasstown, N.C.) for the ninth stop of the 12-race miniseries. Locking his spot into the $3,500-to-win A-Main with the fourth fastest lap in his time trial group, Donald earned the seventh-starting position for the 35-lap feature. With the leader getting a tangle while trying to navigate through lapped-traffic, fifth-running McIntosh was stuck behind on the tangle on lap 11 that brought an immediate end to his night.

1After a scheduled off day on Wednesday, McIntosh headed to Crossville Speedway (Crossville, Tenn.) on Thursday evening competing in a field of 18 cars. On Friday afternoon at 411 Motor Speedway (Seymour, Tenn.), Donald came in fifth fastest in his group before placing third in his heat. Clawing forward two spots in the 53-lap feature, McIntosh recorded a seventh place finish.

For the final round of the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals tour, McIntosh headed to Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) on Saturday evening for the $10,053-to-win finale. Posting a third place finish in his heat, Donald locked into the 10th-starting position for the main event. He was an early retiree from the 53-lap affair on lap 33, while being credited with a 14th place outing.

Donald finished fourth in the final Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals point standings.

July 19, 2020 - McIntosh lands second place finish at Needmore, sits fourth in So. Nationals points
1For the third round of the Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals slate, Donald McIntosh was one of 24 competitors on hand at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) on Monday afternoon for the $3,500-to-win A-Main. Coming in sixth fastest in his group, McIntosh transferred into the B-Main for another shot at the A-Main. After leading the first eight circuits, Donald suffered a flat tire that forced him to rely on a provisional into the show. Marching through the field 13 spots in the 35-lap affair, McIntosh notched an eighth place finish.

1The following night at I-75 Raceway (Sweetwater, Tenn.), Donald timed in sixth fastest in his group before picking up a 10-lap consolation victory. With $3,500 on the line in the feature, McIntosh passed eight cars in the 35-lapper to place fourth behind Cory Hedgecock, Chris Madden, and Brandon Overton with Ryan King coming in fifth. On Thursday evening at Senoia Raceway (Senoia, Ga.), Donald logged the eighth fastest time in his group, transferring him into the B-Main. Scoring a second place finish behind Pearson Lee Williams, McIntosh earned the 15th-starting position for the $3,500-to-win A-Main. Coming one spot shy of a Top-5 finish, Donald advanced through the field nine spots to register a sixth place finish.

1For the sixth stop of the tour at Needmore Speedway (Norman Park, Ga.) on Friday afternoon, McIntosh laid down the fastest lap in his group before picking up a 10-lap heat race victory. Rolling off on the front row alongside Ross Bailes, Donald swapped back-and-forth for the top spot with Bailes until he suffered a flat on lap 20, giving McIntosh the lead. Running out front until lapped-traffic became a factor, Donald lost the lead to Brandon Overton on lap 37 and would settle with a runner-up finish behind Overton, with John Baker, Michael Page, and Pearson Lee Williams completing the Top-5 finishers. On Saturday evening at Screven Motor Speedway (Sylvania, Ga.) for back-to-back $10,053-to-win features, Donald followed up the fastest time in his group with a second place finish in his heat behind Brandon Overton. Losing five spots in the 53-lap feature, McIntosh posted an 11th place outing.

Wrapping up the action-packed week with the Southern Nationals on Sunday, McIntosh headed to Cochran Motor Speedway (Cochran, Ga.) for the $3,500 prize. After coming in third fastest in his time trial group, Donald held his spot for all 35-laps of the feature to place sixth.

July 11, 2020 - Fifth place finish in Southern Nationals stop at Wythe Raceway
1Donald McIntosh was one of 35 Schaeffer’s Southern Nationals entries on hand at Smoky Mountain Speedway (Maryville, Tenn.) on Friday evening to kick off the 12-race tour. Following the second fastest time in his qualifying group behind Ross Bailes, McIntosh posted a third place finish in his heat, which positioned him 11th on the starting grid for the opening night feature. With $10,053 on the line, Donald gained one spot in the 53-lapper to place 10th.

July 4, 2020 - Pair of Top 5 finishes with Iron-Man Series in Volunteer State
1Taking part in the Fourth of July weekend doubleheader, Donald McIntosh invaded Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) on Friday night for the Schaeffer’s Iron-Man Series-sanctioned Firecracker 40. Earning the second-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, McIntosh and race-leader Vic Hill took part in a heated battle for the lead in the first 20 laps until the pair made contact, sending McIntosh into the pits with a flat left-rear tire.
